Let the delightful words of this beautiful poem,
charm and inspire your busy day.

--Description: 19th C, Poe E., Dreams, Hope--

Take this kiss upon the brow!
And, in parting from you now,
Thus much let me avow
You are not wrong, who deem
That my days have been a dream;
Yet if hope has flown away
In a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream.

I stand amid the roar
Of a surf-tormented shore,
And I hold within my hand
Grains of the golden sand
How few! yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep,
While I weep - while I weep!
O God! can I not grasp
Them with a tighter clasp?
O God! can I not save
One from the pitiless wave?
Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream?

--Did You Know: Poe was an American writer, poet, editor and literary critic, and is considered part of the American Romantic Movement.

--Word of the Day: ephemeral \ih-FEM-er-ul\, adjective
Meaning: 1. Beginning and ending in a day; existing only, or no longer than, a day; as, an ephemeral flower.  2. Short-lived; existing or continuing for a short time only.
Example: Success is very ephemeral. You depend entirely on the desire of others, which makes it difficult to relax.
(Eva Green)

--Quote of the Day: I cannot believe that the purpose of life is to be happy. I think the purpose of life is to be useful, to be responsible, to be compassionate. It is, above all to matter, to count, to stand for something, to have made some difference that you lived at all.
(Leo Rosten)
